Recently, the General Administration of Customs of China released the export data of electronic cigarettes (including electronic cigarettes and similar personal electronic vaping devices, as well as other products containing nicotine that are not smoked or burned, the same below) in March 2025.
The data shows that the export value of electronic cigarettes in China in March 2025 was approximately 865 million US dollars (the detailed data is 864,831,567 US dollars), an increase of 4.84% compared to 825 million US dollars in the same period of 2024.
Regarding the destination countries for exports, in March, the United States remained the largest destination country for China's e-cigarette exports, with an export volume of 315 million US dollars, ranking first. However, the United States has imposed huge tariffs on Chinese goods in April, and it is still unknown whether this will have a substantive impact on China's e-cigarette exports.
It is worth noting that due to the upcoming ban on disposable e-cigarettes in the UK on June 1st this year, the product categories in the market have been restricted. In March, Germany surpassed the UK for the second time to become the second-largest destination country for China's e-cigarettes. Specific data shows that in March, China's e-cigarette exports to Germany were 75.46 million US dollars, an increase of 17.94%; and to the UK, it was 73.87 million US dollars, a decrease of 14.87%.
In addition, South Korea maintained the fourth position with an export volume of 53.5 million US dollars. Malaysia rose two positions compared to March 2024, with an export volume of 35.04 million US dollars, ranking fifth, an increase of 30.94%. The Netherlands, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and Poland ranked sixth to tenth respectively.
