Following the publication of papers by RELX and Smoore, Aiqiqi Research focuses on the safety of e-liquid sweeteners

Recently, the Innovation Laboratory of Aiqiqi Technology Co., Ltd. published a research paper on the effect of sweeteners in e-cigarette oil on the release of heavy metals in the international medical journal Frontiers in Physiology. Previously, RELX and Smoore also published professional papers in authoritative journals.
With the rapid expansion of the e-cigarette market, the safety standards of the e-cigarette industry have received increasing attention, and many e-cigarette companies have begun to take action to improve the safety and transparency of their products through scientific research. Recently, the Innovation Laboratory of Aiqiqi (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. published a research paper on the effect of sweeteners in e-cigarette oil on the release of heavy metals in the international medical journal Frontiers in Physiology.
Aiqiqi Laboratory Publishes Sweetener Research
This study aims to deeply analyze the effects of two common sweeteners in e-cigarette oil, sucralose and neotame, on the content of heavy metals during heating and atomization, as well as the effects of these sweeteners on cytotoxicity.

Research results show:
The release of heavy metals, especially nickel, from e-cigarette oil containing 5% sucralose increased significantly after heating and atomization, while e-cigarette oil using neotame showed lower heavy metal content.
In addition, studies have also found that sucralose may produce chloride ions during the heating process, which may cause corrosion of metal parts and thereby increase the release of heavy metals.
This finding has certain significance in guiding the formulation design of e-cigarette oils, which recommends reducing the use of sucralose in e-cigarette oils or considering using safer alternatives.
It is reported that "Frontiers of Physiology" is a journal of the Second District of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with an impact factor of 3.2. AiMiracle's innovation laboratory was founded in 2022 with an initial investment of more than 40 million yuan and currently has more than 1,000 patents.

RELX and Smoore published papers in succession
Coincidentally, e-cigarette companies are not alone in "advancing into science". Despite huge investments, publishing research papers has a positive impact on companies. Increasing public trust, responding to public concerns, improving corporate reputation and enhancing market advantages are key.
Previously, RELX and Smoore also published professional papers in authoritative journals, with different companies focusing on different areas.
Ai Miracle's research results this time focused on e-liquids, while the RELX research team focused on studying the safety of cooling agents and e-cigarette smoke.
As early as 2021, the RELX scientific team published two papers in global SCI journals. First, the Journal of Applied Toxicology published a scientific paper stating that under the test dose conditions, the cooling agent WS-23 is safe for inhalation (Editor's note: Cooling agent WS-23 is an additive widely used in food, beverages, medicine, electronic atomizers and other fields. As an e-cigarette additive, this ingredient makes the throat feel cool after smoking an e-cigarette).
Later, the research team published an academic paper in the SCI journal Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety. Compared with cigarette smoke condensates, the team verified the relative harm reduction potential of e-cigarettes at the cellular level.
In addition, Smoore's paper "Separation of Components in Total Alkaloid Extract of Coptis Chinensis by High-Speed Countercurrent Chromatography" was published in the national core journal "Journal of Medicine and Health" in August 2022. It is reported that this is the first time that the electronic atomization industry has published a research paper in a medical journal.
From the research results of Aiqiqi, RELX and Smoore, it can be seen that health and safety are the keywords for scientific research in the field of e-cigarettes. The safety assessment of e-cigarettes is a complex process. With the release of more research results, it may be able to provide e-cigarette users with more comprehensive and accurate safety information.
