A team of British volunteers created a sculpture called "The Ballad of Lost Mary" with 4,500 disposable e-cigarettes, aiming to raise public awareness of environmental issues and the proliferation of disposable products. The sculpture will be disassembled after the exhibition and the e-cigarettes will be recycled.

According to the BBC report on September 4, a team of scavenging volunteers in Plymouth, Devon, England, created a sculpture using 4,500 disposable e-cigarettes collected last year.

The five-foot (1.5-meter) high sculpture, called "The Ballad of Lost Mary", has been on display throughout the city since June, and the last exhibition location was Plymouth Railway Station.

El Clarke, the founder of CIC, the company that founded the sculpture, said that it plans to disassemble it after the final exhibition and recycle the e-cigarettes. The sculpture not only symbolizes the rampant e-cigarettes, but also symbolizes the proliferation of disposable products in society.

"We created a five-foot-tall sculpture using e-cigarettes to raise awareness of the environment. The sculpture has a hand in the center and a seahorse on top, symbolizing the struggle of marine animals to survive among the garbage."

"We used found polystyrene, and the artists also used some other materials to complete the sculpture."

Speaking of the number of disposable e-cigarettes collected last year, she said: "The number is really amazing."

"Fortunately, we have seen a significant decrease in the number of such e-cigarettes this year, especially before the ban takes effect in 2025, which is a good thing."

"We hope that by the time the ban is implemented, these disposable e-cigarettes will be basically eliminated."
