Uzbekistan plans to ban the circulation of e-cigarettes and tobacco products
The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has proposed a draft law banning the circulation of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), e-cigarettes and their e-liquids, and heated tobacco in the country. Violators will face a fine of US$1,000 or five years in prison.
According to trends on April 12, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan proposed a draft law to ban the circulation of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), e-cigarettes and their e-liquids, and heated tobacco in the country.
The draft is now publicly available on Uzbekistan's legal document discussion portal. At the same time, under the bill, the Ministry of Health proposes that those who violate this ban will face a fine of $1,000 or five years in prison.
According to data from the Statistics Bureau of Uzbekistan, from January to February 2024, the country's production of tobacco and products reached 2.1 billion sticks. During the same period, the country's exports of tobacco and its products were worth $7.8 million, while imports were worth $10.5 million.
