Ukrainian police seized more than 7,000 illegal e-cigarette products, involving a total amount of $120,000

Ukrainian police seized a case involving the sale of e-cigarette products with counterfeit excise stamps, involving more than 7,000 e-cigarette devices and supporting e-liquids, with a total value of $120,000.

According to Cripo on December 28, the Zakarpatt Regional Prosecutor's Office in Ukraine seized a case of using counterfeit excise stamps to sell e-cigarette products.

Law enforcement officers found that in the Khust and Tachev districts, some criminals sold e-cigarette devices and supporting e-liquids with counterfeit Ukrainian excise stamps or without any signs. It is reported that the illegal activities involved residents of the Khust region and the city of Kiev, and these products were sent from the capital Kiev to the Zakarpat region for retail.

Recently, law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches of relevant warehouses and the residences of the persons involved in the case, and seized more than 7,000 e-cigarette devices of different brands, supporting ink cartridges, flavored e-liquids, and hundreds of packages containing nicotine and glycerin. In addition, some handwritten documents and cash were found and seized. Preliminary estimates put the value of the seized illegal goods at UAH 5 million ($120,000).

Preliminary investigations into the case are currently underway.
