It is worth noting that according to the pictures released by the Thai customs, the packaging of these electronic cigarettes bears the word "YOOZ". The exact source of this is still unknown. The local customs department is currently intensifying the investigation and pursuing relevant individuals for legal prosecution.
According to the policy of the Thai government regarding the prevention and suppression of illegal goods smuggling into the country, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yitani Nitidanpabba, Ph.D., ordered the General Customs Administration to crack down on illegal goods with a view to implementing the government's "rapid significant achievements" policy. The director of the General Customs Administration, Banthong Loigulanan, responded to the policy and has instructed all operational units to strictly enforce it.
On January 15th, the second customs zone office of the Thai General Customs Administration jointly with Mudahan Customs and the Northeast Region Investigation and Crackdown Team conducted a search at a private logistics company in Mudahan Province. The search revealed 22,800 electronic cigarette cartridges, with various flavors, all of which were made in China and without any customs clearance documents. The total weight was 389.5 kilograms and the total value exceeded 4.5 million Thai baht.
According to the 2017 "Thai Customs Law", this action constitutes an illegal import of goods without completing customs clearance procedures. Currently, these goods have been seized as evidence for further legal proceedings.
