Syria Has Banned The Production, Sale And Use Of Electronic Cigarettes.

According to foreign media reports, Syria has banned the production, sale and use of electronic cigarettes. The local government is strengthening inspection efforts in major cities to prevent the spread of electronic cigarettes.
Reidwan Sevak, the head of health affairs in Damascus, the capital of Syria, said that the authorities have banned the production, circulation, sale and use of electronic cigarettes. This move is aimed at protecting public health, especially that of children and teenagers.
He stated that in recent years, electronic cigarettes have rapidly gained popularity in Syria, especially among young people. Initially, these products were only used by a small number of people as smoking cessation tools, but over time, they have reached a wider audience.
Regarding the penalties for those who violate the ban, Sevak said that if a violation is detected, the related products will be confiscated and destroyed, and legal action will be taken against the involved enterprises or merchants. He explained that for the first violation, the enterprise or store will be ordered to suspend operations for 3 days for rectification. If the violation occurs again, the suspension period will be extended.
