In The First Week Of The UK's Ban On Disposable E-cigarettes, E-cigarette Sales Plummeted By 5.2 Million Pounds.

According to data from the UK convenience retail data platform Talysis, the first week of the UK's ban on disposable e-cigarettes had a huge impact on the UK's e-cigarette market.
The platform collected sales data from over 13,000 e-cigarette stores, including 1,600 petrol station retail outlets, showing that the sales of e-cigarettes in the UK dropped from an average of £23 million per week to £17.8 million, a plunge of £5.2 million (approximately 50.68 million yuan).
The data also revealed significant regional differences in the impact of the ban. Scotland saw the largest decline, with sales dropping by 36%, and all regions in the UK experienced a decrease of at least 20%.

Ed Roberts, the managing director of Talysis, said: "Although it's still early days for the disposable e-cigarette ban, it's undoubtedly a major shift. Retailers need quick and clear insights to respond effectively - and that's where our data can help."

He also noted that although open and pod-style e-cigarettes are becoming increasingly popular in the UK, these products cannot yet fill the market gap left by disposable e-cigarettes.

It's worth noting that the disposable e-cigarette ban came into effect in the UK in the first week of June, but more than £1 million worth of disposable e-cigarettes were still sold, suggesting that some retailers may be ignoring the new regulations.
