Over 600,000 Illegal Electronic Cigarettes Were Seized At The Australian Border.

According to a report by Marinelink website on November 23rd: Cross-border intelligence collaboration in solving cases: The overseas officials of the Australian Border Enforcement Agency (ABF) stationed in Beijing, in collaboration with international partners, shared intelligence and successfully identified nearly 70 high-risk containers.
The scale of seizure was huge: A total of 600,000+ illegal electronic cigarettes were intercepted, with a value of approximately 30 million Australian dollars. They mainly arrived at the ports of New South Wales from September to October 2025.
The level of disguise has increased: Most of the containers were disguised as glass bottles, lamps, toy cars, balls, curtains, books, etc. to evade inspection.
The astonishing annual interception volume: So far in 2025, the ABF has intercepted 524 million cigarettes, 1 million+ electronic cigarettes, and 918 tons of bulk tobacco through international referrals.
Core law enforcement thinking: The ABF emphasizes that it should try to intercept at the source abroad (upstream disruption) as much as possible to prevent risks from entering the country.

Continuing the record of last year: In 2024, due to international intelligence collaboration, 691,000 electronic cigarettes were seized, which was the largest scale in history at that time.
