The Mexican House of Representatives plans to discuss and vote on a draft constitutional reform to ban e-cigarettes at a plenary session of Congress next week, which is part of a series of proposals put forward by the former president.

On November 27, the Mexican House of Representatives announced on its official website that Ricardo Monreal Ávila, chairman of the Political Coordination Committee (Jucopo), said that the draft constitutional reform to ban e-cigarettes will be discussed and voted on at the plenary session of Congress next week. These reforms stem from a package of proposals submitted by the former national executive.

The congressman pointed out that once the draft constitutional reform on the e-cigarette ban is passed, only three of the 18 to 20 proposals put forward by former President López Obrador will remain outstanding, including on food and water, fair pensions and electoral reforms.

He expects the budget discussion to begin on December 3 or 4 and end on the 12th or 13th of the month.
