Electronic Cigarette Merchants in Texas, USA, Are Already Prepared To Make A Transition in Response To The Ban.

According to a report by TC News on August 18th: Starting from September 1st, certain disposable electronic cigarettes will be completely banned from sale in Texas. This move is regarded as a major victory for environmental protection, but many businesses still feel worried about their future.
As reported by The Dallas Morning News, Senate Bill 2024 in Texas will implement a broad ban, covering various types of electronic cigarette products, aiming to reduce plastic waste and electronic waste in the state. This ban mainly targets electronic cigarettes manufactured in China or marketed in China, as well as products containing other intoxicating substances (such as cannabis extracts and cannabinoids) besides nicotine.
Violating the ban will be considered a Class A misdemeanor, with a maximum sentence of one year in prison and a maximum fine of $4,000 per case. If the involved electronic cigarettes are sold to minors, the punishment may be even more severe.
Although the goal of this bill is to protect minors from the influence of electronic cigarettes and other substances, this measure is a heavy blow to electronic cigarette and THC retailers.
"This is not just a problem for me and my husband. We also have to worry about our family and employees. This is what I am most concerned about. I don't want them, or our customers, to be in an unfavorable situation," said Yelena Yuen, co-founder of The Glass House TX.

For a long time, disposable electronic cigarettes have been regarded as a source of pollution. Their plastic casings, non-degradable components, as well as harmful substances such as lithium batteries and nicotine salts can generate a large amount of waste, which may contaminate the soil and water bodies through microplastics and leach chemicals, potentially causing potential damage to the environment.
The ban on electronic cigarettes may significantly reduce the sales of local merchants, forcing many independent stores to make a passive transformation and even face closure. Hans Enriquez, the founder of the "Lazydaze" chain store, pointed out: "We do sell cannabis electronic cigarettes and concentrates. With the passage of the bill, we may lose this part of our income."
However, he also acknowledged that adapting to the economic environment is not difficult: "We have been ready for transformation and adaptation. We can definitely survive as a coffee shop while continuing to offer cannabis-themed experiences."
