Electronic Cigarette Stores in Perak State, Malaysia, Must Clear Their Inventories By The End Of The Year.

According to a report by NST News on August 15th: The operators of e-cigarette stores in Perak state must clear their inventories by December 31st of this year, as the state will implement a complete ban on e-cigarettes starting from 2026.
The chairman of the Perak state government, housing, environment and green technology committee, Datuk Mohd Faqruddin Mohd Arif, said that the local government has stopped issuing licenses for the sale of e-cigarette products.
He said: "This decision follows the measures taken by the Perak state government to prohibit the use of e-cigarettes. We will no longer issue licenses for the sale of e-cigarettes.
"Once the ban takes effect, the local government will send law enforcement officers to regularly inspect business premises to ensure that merchants no longer illegally sell e-cigarette products."
After attending the opening ceremony of the Kuantan Serambi Teruntum fresh market, Fakruddin told reporters that the Perak state government attaches great importance to the issue of children, especially students, using e-cigarettes, and therefore decided to implement the ban, which concerns the future of the state's citizens.
He said: "We suggest that merchants comply with the ban and do not restock. The state government has no plans to lift the ban on e-cigarette sales."
Meanwhile, Fakruddin said that to raise public awareness, the local government will distribute leaflets and post banners to inform of the ban.
He said: "We hope that the public, especially parents with children, can fully understand the significance of the e-cigarette ban and ensure that merchants are aware of the relevant regulations."
Fakruddin also expressed his gratitude to Perak Sultan Abdul Razali Yatimuddin Abdul Musadfa Bilashah, saying that the president has been promoting the efforts to ban the use of e-cigarettes nationwide.
He said: "The president has repeatedly emphasized the dangers of e-cigarettes in his speeches and shown great concern. Therefore, the state government is taking appropriate measures to ensure that the ban can be effectively implemented in Perak."
