The latest statistics from the UK show that last year, law enforcement officers seized approximately 1.2 million illegal electronic cigarette devices, and over 14,000 cases involved merchants holding, storing, or selling illegal electronic cigarette products. In the past year, British law enforcement officers also seized 7.15 million illegal cigarettes and nearly 10,000 nicotine pouches. Consumers generally have confusion regarding product compliance, with 54% of UK e-cigarette users stating that they had purchased illegal products unknowingly.

These data were compiled based on information provided by online retailer Vape Club and a survey of 2,000 e-cigarette users. The survey found that the main channels for illegal products were convenience stores (36%), e-cigarette specialty stores (33%), and market stalls or street vendors (26%). Dan Macchianti, the director of Vape Club, said that the trade of non-compliant products is damaging the industry's reputation and called for increased law enforcement against bad merchants.
