E-cigarette use increases among young British women

According to data recently released by the British Office for National Statistics, in 2022, the proportion of British women aged 16 to 24 who use e-cigarettes every day will be 6.7%, while the proportion in 2021 will be 1.9%.

Data shows that in the UK, young women are more likely to use e-cigarettes than young men. The proportion of young women who occasionally use e-cigarettes has also increased, from 7.1% in 2021 to 12.2% last year. Among British men aged 16 to 24, the proportion of daily e-cigarette users is 3.6%, and 8.7% of young men use e-cigarettes occasionally.

At the same time, the proportion of smokers in the UK has fallen to its lowest level since statistics began to be kept. Only 11.2% of people aged 16 and over said they smoked, down from 12.7% last year.
