Czech Republic: Prohibition Of Selling E-cigarettes With Candy Flavors

According to a report by a tobacco journalist on December 4th: Under a new law that came into effect this week, Czech e-cigarette stores will no longer restock the currently sold candy-flavored e-cigarettes and products containing cannabinoids. Retailers have seven months to clear their existing inventories; otherwise, these products will be banned from sale.
Health experts say that this ban is aimed at protecting minors. They point out that minors are particularly prone to nicotine addiction and often do not understand the high nicotine content in e-cigarettes. Experts say that nearly 14% of Czechs used e-cigarettes last year, and the usage rate among those aged 15 to 24 has soared to over 25%, with the majority choosing sweet-flavored e-cigarettes.
Critics argue that enforcing the existing age restriction laws would be more effective, but supporters point out that international evidence shows that flavor restrictions can reduce teenagers' intake of nicotine. Fruit-flavored products will continue to be sold, but officials say that removing candy-type nicotine products is a necessary step to limit teenagers' early exposure to nicotine.
