Cambodia Has Completely Banned Electronic Cigarettes.

After publicly stating in May this year that it would reject investment in the production of electronic cigarettes (related news: The Prime Minister of Cambodia said that he did not welcome any form of investment in the production of electronic cigarettes), on October 21st, the Cambodian government once again introduced measures to completely ban the import, advertising, sale and use of electronic cigarettes and hookahs.
According to the decree signed by Prime Minister Hun Maney, this ban aims to cultivate high-quality healthy citizens, which is said to be crucial for Cambodia's social and economic development.

The decree requires the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Information, and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to immediately take measures to prevent the import, distribution, advertising, sale and storage of such products. The Ministry of Health is responsible for issuing guidelines and disseminating information about the impact and hazards of using these devices on health.
The decree also stipulates: "The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports should issue guidance plans to carry out educational prevention work in public educational institutions, private educational institutions, teacher training colleges, dormitories, community learning centers, gyms, sports venues, sports training facilities and sports competition venues and their surrounding areas, resolutely curb and completely ban the use of electronic cigarette and hookah electronic devices and chemical substances."
All ministries and state institutions must prohibit civil servants, police officers, military personnel and their subordinate contract officials from using such devices. Government workers using these products will receive verbal warnings, and the devices will be confiscated. If they violate the rules again, they will receive a written warning and sign a commitment to stop using them.
If merchants are found to be engaged in the distribution, sale, storage, advertising or promotion activities of related products, regardless of their business category, they will all be given a written warning, have their materials confiscated and have their business registration certificates, licenses or business licenses temporarily withheld.
