巴西电子烟提案进入参议院投票阶段

The Brazilian Senate Economic Affairs Committee will vote on a proposal to allow the sale and use of e-cigarettes on Tuesday (9th). If passed, the proposal will be further considered in the Senate plenary session and the House of Representatives.

According to Headtopics on July 9, the Brazilian Senate Economic Affairs Committee voted on Tuesday (9th) on a project to allow the sale and use of e-cigarettes. If the committee votes, the proposal will need to be considered in the Senate plenary session before entering the House of Representatives.

In April, the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) unanimously passed the e-cigarette ban that has been in place since 2009. However, e-cigarettes are still easy to buy in stores and on websites. The agency's report pointed out that the nicotine content of e-cigarettes may be 20 times higher than that of ordinary cigarettes.

For online sales, buyers must present documents proving that they have reached the legal age when receiving the product. Advertisements must not contain symbols or characters that are attractive to teenagers under the age of 18, nor should their consumption be associated with candies and desserts.
