Thai police raided a warehouse disguised as a grocery store in Lat Krabang, seized more than 60,000 illegal e-cigarette products worth 5 million baht (137,828 U.S. dollars), and arrested two suspects.
According to The Thaiger on July 20, Thai police recently raided a large warehouse in Lat Krabang and found more than 60,000 illegal e-cigarette products worth 5 million baht (137,828 U.S. dollars), and two suspects were arrested.
The target of the police raid was a three-story commercial building in the Phutthabucha area, which was disguised as a grocery store.
The investigation showed that the commercial building was used to store a large number of illegal e-cigarette products and related equipment. During the search, the police seized more than 60,000 items, including e-cigarettes, e-cigarette oils and e-cigarette accessories, with a total value of approximately 5 million baht (137,828 U.S. dollars).
After the seizure of the products, the suspects and the confiscated items were handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings.
The use and sale of e-cigarettes is strictly regulated in Thailand and the raid is an important step in curbing illegal distribution.
"This operation highlights the importance of cross-agency collaboration in combating illegal activities. We are committed to continuing our efforts to enforce the law and protect public health."
The suspects, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, face legal action for their involvement in the illegal storage and distribution of e-cigarette products and the investigation is ongoing.
