In an operation to crack down on counterfeit e-cigarettes and tobacco, the Sandwell Police in England discovered and seized illegal e-cigarettes of brands such as "HAYATI" hidden in the hatch of an attic, with a total value of more than 100,000 pounds.

According to MSN on July 22, officers in the Midlands of England found a batch of hidden e-cigarettes in the hatch of an attic during a crackdown on counterfeit e-cigarettes and tobacco. The e-cigarette products seized involved the e-cigarette brand "HAYATI".

According to the West Midlands Police (WMP), these e-cigarettes were sniffed out in Sandwell by a tobacco sniffer dog, which was involved in a multi-agency operation in the area.

Police said that this year, a total of about 3,200 e-cigarettes, 127,300 cigarettes and 23 bags of hookahs were seized in Sandwell, with a total retail value of more than 100,000 pounds for all goods. The operation included inspections, seizure of counterfeit products and pursuit of closure orders for stores that continued to ignore the law.

Law enforcement officers said shop owners selling illegal products usually hide them in "hidden places" such as under the floor and behind the wall. However, some shop owners are more brazen, and some even display hundreds of products openly. The Sandwell Trading Standards Bureau is investigating.

John Tranter of the Sandwell WMP Partnership Team said,

"We are continuing to work hard to remove illegal e-cigarettes and counterfeit cigarettes from the streets and ultimately protect the public. Thanks to our partnership with Sandwell City Council, we are cracking down on wider criminal activities and protecting the well-being of the community."
