Review | How does voice-controlled e-cigarettes perform? AI voice has a "futuristic" feel but its stability is questioned

 

The iJoy Bar SD40000 e-cigarette, launched by the iJoy brand in the US market in August this year, has become the focus for its AI voice control function. 2Firsts collected user reviews from multiple US e-cigarette dealer websites and found that the product was well received in terms of taste, lighting effects and battery life, but it also faced problems such as unstable AI voice control and inaccurate display of e-liquid content.

In August this year, the e-cigarette brand iJoy launched the iJoy Bar SD40000 in the US and other markets, claiming that the product has AI voice control function. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the product's market performance and user feedback, 2Firsts collected and sorted out the evaluation of the product by consumers on major dealer websites since the iJoy Bar SD40000 was launched, aiming to analyze the user acceptance of such products and the challenges they face.

On the US e-cigarette dealer websites vapesourcing, bellavapor, morevaping, blackoutvapors and other websites, consumers have mixed reviews on the iJoy Bar SD40000. On the one hand, some users gave positive comments on its taste, lighting effects and battery life. On the other hand, some users pointed out that there are some problems with the product:

 

· AI control has a "futuristic feel" but sometimes "fails"

On the product evaluation page displayed on the dealer website, a consumer said "This will last forever, AI voice control is very futuristic."

· Inaccurate display of e-liquid content

 

On the product review page displayed on the dealer's website, two consumers said that the e-liquid content of the product was inaccurate. "I would give this e-cigarette 5/5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that every time I bought this e-cigarette, the liquid volume was 0% but it wasn't actually 0%. It's more like 30%-50%, which is so annoying. It deceives you about the percentage."

"Please note that this e-cigarette may show 0% of the e-liquid remaining, but this is just a stupid display. Because the amount of e-liquid is obviously more than 0%. I have been using this e-cigarette for the past 2 weeks, and the e-liquid shows 0%, but the taste is far from 0%."

· The puff count rate is about 95%

An article on the blackoutvapors website about the iJoy Bar SD40000 puff count test stated that in actual use, in Drive mode, short puffs of 2-3 seconds can reach 37,000 to 39,000 puffs; long puffs of 4-6 seconds can drop to 30,000 to 32,000 puffs.

In addition, the duration of mouth-inhalation, e-cigarette mode, frequency of use, ambient temperature and charging habits are the main factors affecting the number of puffs of iJoy Bar SD40000. Using Drive mode, short puffs, avoiding continuous puffs, adjusting airflow and charging correctly can get more puffs.

In fact, as early as 2018, iJoy had launched a MOD e-cigarette equipped with voice control function - IJOY Avenger 270, which claimed that the product's "greatest achievement lies in the voice control system, allowing users to adjust the device through the voice recognition mechanism."

According to Tianyancha, iJoy applied for a patent for "a voice-controlled e-cigarette" in 2018, including a voice input module, a control module, a drive module, a step-down module and an atomizer.
