⚠️ Core Health Risks： CBD is not "harmless"
CBD itself shows potential benefits for anxiety in clinical studies, but the method of vaporizing CBD for inhalation has clear risks. Whether CBD is safe is a different matter.

Pulmonary Inflammation and Damage： A study directly compared the pulmonary inflammation, oxidative stress, and pathological changes caused by vaporized CBD to those caused by vaporized nicotine. This is an active electrophilic agent with cytotoxicity, which can form a covalent bond with key proteins (TOP2A) in airway cells, inhibiting cell proliferation, and long-term use may damage airway repair ability and increase infection risk.

Pollutants and Additives： Commercial CBD cartridges are commonly found to contain plasticizers, fragrances, solvents, and pollutants such as heavy metals. These substances may catalyze or exacerbate the harmful oxidation reaction of CBD. Some products even contain up to 37.3% oil, which can cause severe respiratory diseases when inhaled into the lungs.

Unproven Health Claims： Many CBD cartridge products' health benefits lack scientific basis, posing a significant public health risk.

⚖️ Legal Status： China's Red Line and Global Differences
China： Clear Legal Red Line

This is a core issue that must be clearly understood. In China, THC and CBD are both included in the first category of psychotropic drug varieties. All cannabis and its products (including CBD) belong to the category of drugs. They are prohibited from entering the country.

According to the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, third-party transportation or luggage carrying of cannabis and its products into China, regardless of quantity, is a criminal offense. Electronic cigarettes containing CBD are also included in this category.

In August 2024, China further included 7 substances, including CBD, in the controlled scope of precursor chemicals for drug production. Currently, CBD cannot be used in end products in China.

Even industrial hemp, if the THC content exceeds 0.3%, is also considered illegal.

Overseas： Complex but Risky

United States： CBD derived from industrial hemp (THC < 0.3%) is legal at the federal level, but regulations vary by state. In states where hemp is legally recreational, CBD cartridges can be purchased at licensed pharmacies; however, in many states, CBD products are still subject to strict restrictions or prohibited.
