The Pleasanton Police Department in California, USA, and the tax department raided three tobacco stores and seized more than $130,000 worth of illegal tobacco products. The seized e-cigarettes included e-cigarettes of brands such as "GEEK BAR" and "FLUM".

According to Pleasanton Weekly on August 23, the Pleasanton Police Department (PPD) in California, USA, recently seized more than $130,000 worth of illegal tobacco products in three stores, including flavored tobacco, e-cigarettes and other banned products. The seized products included e-cigarettes of brands such as "GEEK BAR" and "FLUM".

According to officials of the city police department, on August 8, they raided three tobacco stores in collaboration with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) and city code enforcement officials. They found that not all tobacco retailers abide by the law and continue to sell these products to minors in their stores.

Recently, the state's governor, Gavin Newsom, signed a law prohibiting retail stores from selling most flavored tobacco products, including flavored e-cigarettes. The law was implemented in response to the growing number of youth using e-cigarettes and tobacco products. It follows similar bans passed in Pleasanton, Whale Falls, and Dublin.

According to PPD,

"Businesses found selling flavored tobacco will be issued a citation. In some cases, a tobacco sales license may be suspended for 30 days."
