US companies file 337 investigation applications against certain e-cigarette products | Attached is a list of 42 defendant companies

The U.S. International Trade Commission will launch a 337 investigation into certain e-cigarette products involving 42 companies for alleged infringement of the patent rights of RAI and other companies.

On June 11, 2024, RAI Strategic Holdings, Inc., R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, RAI Services Company, and R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company filed an application with the U.S. International Trade Commission in accordance with Section 337 of the U.S. Tariff Act of 1930, alleging that certain e-cigarette products (Certain Disposable Vaporizer Devices and Components Thereof) exported to, imported into, or sold in the United States infringed their patent rights, and requested to initiate a 337 investigation and issue a general exclusion order, a limited exclusion order, and a prohibition order. 42 companies from the United States, China, the United Kingdom, etc. are involved in the case.

According to documents from the U.S. International Trade Commission, the following companies were listed as proposed defendants by Reynolds Tobacco because they were suspected of importing, selling, or distributing disposable electronic atomizer devices and components thereof that infringed U.S. Patent No. 11,925,202 ("the '202 patent").
