Türkiye proposes new law: selling e-cigarettes may face up to 6 years in prison

The Turkish government will strengthen the regulation of e-cigarettes. The new bill will impose severe penalties on e-cigarette sellers, and violators will face up to 6 years in prison.
According to Haberler on December 1, the Turkish government decided to strengthen the regulation of tobacco and alcohol, and those who sell e-cigarettes and alcohol will face severe penalties. The new bill will soon be submitted to the parliament for deliberation.
According to the content of the bill:
All items including e-cigarettes and e-hookahs, as well as electronic devices, cartridges, spare parts and e-liquids used in the consumption of these items, produced, sold, supplied, held and transported for commercial purposes in the country will be sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison;
Cigarette holders and cigarette papers must also be printed with warning patterns and Turkish warnings, with a ratio requirement of 65%. Violators will face a fine of 50,000 Turkish liras (US$1,440);
If tobacco or hookahs are sold to minors under the age of 18, and the same mistake is made three times within five years, the relevant sales or certificates will be revoked and the store will be closed for two years.
