Wisconsin E-cigarette Ban Takes Effect: Store Sales Plummet By 90%

According to WKOW's report on September 3rd, Wisconsin, USA (WKOW) - With the new e-cigarette ban coming into effect, many stores in Wisconsin are eyeing the empty display cabinets, weighing their next moves.

This law requires the state tax authority to impose fines on e-cigarette equipment sellers who are not authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Wisconsin Trade Organization WiscoFAST has filed a lawsuit against the tax department. The organization believes that this law unfairly infringes upon the FDA's regulatory responsibilities for these products.
Tyler Hall, the president of WiscoFAST, said: "The case in Wisconsin is a landmark case, and it will set a precedent for how the FDA and states can jointly regulate e-cigarettes."
Hall said: "Since this law took effect on Monday, the sales of many stores have dropped by as much as 90%, which simply doesn't work. You can no longer afford to pay employees' wages and rent."
Currently, many stores are still in an uncertain state, waiting to see if the lawsuit challenging the ban will bring any changes, or if this marks the beginning of a major transformation in the industry in Wisconsin.
