Standard review
On June 3, 2019, the mandatory national standard for "E-Cigarette" has been reviewed, and it is currently in the "approval" status. According to the project schedule, it may be released within the year.
Tobacco Control Action has designed six main indicators
1 Binding indicator of government work: By 2022, it is necessary to basically realize the construction of party and government agencies at all levels into smoke-free agencies.
Two expected indicators: one is that by 2022 and 2030, the smoking rate of people over the age of 15 will be lower than 24.5% and 20%, respectively; the proportion of the population protected by comprehensive smoke-free regulations will reach 30% and above and 80% and above, respectively.
Three advocacy indicators: one is to advocate individual smoking cessation as early as possible, and it is never too late; to create a smoke-free family to protect family members from second-hand smoke; The third is to encourage enterprises and units to introduce comprehensive indoor smoke-free policies, create a smoke-free working environment for employees, and provide necessary help for smoking employees to quit smoking [19].
Standard implementation
On April 8, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standard Committee) released the mandatory national standard GB 41700-2022 "Electronic Cigarettes", which will be implemented from October 1, 2022. The standard clearly stipulates that the characteristic flavor of the product should not show other flavors than tobacco, and clearly requires that "aerosols should contain nicotine", that is, e-cigarette products without nicotine shall not be sold in the market. After the standard is officially implemented, e-cigarette products sold on the market must meet national standards.
