Singapore strengthens regulation of e-cigarettes

According to a recent report by the South China Morning Post, relevant departments in Singapore will strengthen the management of border checkpoints to prevent e-cigarettes from entering Singapore. In addition to border checkpoints, Singapore will also strengthen inspections in central business districts, shopping malls, parks, bars, clubs and other places.

 

Singapore's Ministry of Health said inbound travelers found to be carrying e-cigarettes will be fined. The use of e-cigarettes is illegal in Singapore, and offenders will be fined up to 2,000 Singapore dollars (1 Singapore dollar, approximately RMB 5.35). Those who import, distribute or sell such products will face harsher penalties.
