A Well-known Electronic Cigarette Distributor Sent A Letter To British Officials To Discuss The Issue Of Illegal Electronic Cigarettes Still Being Sold After The Ban.

Recently, VPZ, an electronic cigarette distributor with over 170 stores in the UK, sent a letter to the UK Health Secretary, requesting urgent negotiations and calling for an increase in the penalty for violations from £200 to £10,000. The distributor claimed that although the government's one-time electronic cigarette ban came into effect on June 1st, retailers across the UK were still selling these banned products.
In the letter, VPZ expressed deep concern about the continued prevalence of non-compliant, high-capacity disposable electronic cigarettes, stating that this was undermining public health efforts, encouraging teenagers to smoke electronic cigarettes, and having an impact on the environment.
VPZ stated that the purpose of this legislation was to remove disposable electronic cigarettes from the market, especially those devices that attract young people through bright colors and high nicotine content. However, it has been discovered that there are still dozens of retailers in the UK selling disposable electronic cigarette products, which raises serious questions about law enforcement and regulatory supervision.
The operations director of VPZ, Jamie Strachan, said: "The deadline set by the government has passed, but these banned products are still openly sold in stores across the UK. This is deeply frustrating and worrying - not only for responsible retailers like us who fully comply with the law, but also for the wider public, especially those who are still exposed to these illegal products and the damage they cause to the environment."
He added: "Clearly, without proper enforcement, this legislation is just empty talk. Rules can only be effective if they are supported by practical actions. Currently, this action has not been implemented, which goes against the government's stated commitment to protecting public health and addressing the issue of teenagers smoking electronic cigarettes."
