The Kyrgyz Cabinet has proposed raising the minimum wholesale and retail prices of tobacco and nicotine-containing products to $4 per unit for disposable e-cigarettes and $18 per unit for e-cigarettes and similar devices. The government has issued a relevant resolution and is seeking public opinions.

 

According to Economist on September 27, Kyrgyzstan plans to raise the minimum wholesale and retail prices of tobacco and nicotine-containing products.

 

It is reported that the Kyrgyz Cabinet has issued a relevant resolution and solicited public opinions. The resolution aims to increase state budget revenue and reduce citizens' consumption of harmful products to improve public health.

 

The resolution proposes minimum price standards for four categories of tobacco and nicotine-containing products:

 

Filtered and non-filtered cigarettes and cigarillos, the minimum price is 110 soms (1.3 US dollars) for 20 sticks;

 

Heated tobacco products, such as 20 sticks of 110 soms (1.3 US dollars) for cartridges;

 

Disposable e-cigarettes are 350 soms (4 US dollars) per unit;


E-cigarettes and similar devices are 1,500 soms (18 US dollars) per unit.
