Kazakhstan police seized nearly 1000 illegal electronic cigarettes related to brands such as "ELFBAR" and "WAKA"

Kazakhstan police cracked down on illegal e-cigarette trading and seized 916 e-cigarettes worth $20000, including products from brands such as "ELFBAR" and "WAKA".

 

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan on November 19th, the Kazakh police arrested a 21-year-old suspect in Reed who was attempting to sell prohibited goods to a local resident. In the warehouse used by the suspect, the police seized 916 electronic cigarettes worth 10 million tenge (20000 US dollars), and the seized products involved brands such as "ELFBAR" and "WAKA".

 

According to the police, a preliminary investigation has been launched into this case. The investigation shows that the suspect purchased goods through anonymous intermediaries on communication software with the intention of further reselling.

 

According to current laws, suspects may face fines of up to 200 М CI (monthly calculation index), equivalent time for labor reform, up to 200 hours of public labor, or up to 50 days of detention.

 

The police pointed out that since the law came into effect, the police in East Kazakhstan have successfully prevented the sale of over 2200 electronic cigarettes, more than 540 fragrances and e-liquids, 54 smokeless tobacco products, about 240 cartridges, and 56 atomizers.
