Kazakhstan police seized more than 1,000 illegal e-cigarettes involving multiple brands including "ELFBAR"

The police in Uralk, Kazakhstan, destroyed a network that illegally sold e-cigarettes through Telegram, seized 1,099 e-cigarettes and 1,300 bottles of e-liquid, with a total value of more than 10 million tenge (US$20,000), and the seized products involved multiple e-cigarette brands such as "ELFBAR". The relevant case has been filed for investigation.

 

According to Polisia.kz on September 13, the Criminal Police Department of the Uralk Police Department in Kazakhstan arrested a 25-year-old local resident who used the Telegram channel to sell e-cigarettes.

 

The suspect delivered e-cigarettes by courier. During a search in a liquor market in Uralk, the police found a warehouse from which they seized 1,099 e-cigarettes and 1,300 bottles of e-cigarette oil, with a total value of more than 10 million tenge (about US$20,000), and the seized products involved multiple e-cigarette brands such as "ELFBAR".

 

In addition, the police also arrested two city center residents who were engaged in illegal sales of banned e-cigarettes. During the personal search, 10 e-cigarettes and a box of e-cigarette oil were found.

 

At the same time, police officers from the organized crime department of the West Kazakhstan region also arrested a taxi driver who used the Telegram channel to illegally sell e-cigarettes and seized 8 e-cigarettes.

 

All the above cases have been filed and the relevant investigations are ongoing.

 

It is worth noting that since the law prohibiting the sale and distribution of smokeless tobacco products, e-cigarettes, flavors and their oils came into effect, the police in the West Kazakhstan region have seized more than 1,200 e-cigarettes and more than 1,500 bottles of e-cigarette oil and related equipment.
