According to the Associated Press, there are currently more than 11,500 e-cigarette products on sale in the U.S. market, and almost all of the new products on the shelves are disposable e-cigarettes. From January to November 2023, e-cigarette sales in the US market reached US$3.2 billion.
Tobacco-flavored e-cigarette products authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are not popular, with total sales of only $174 million. A flood of unauthorized flavored e-cigarettes is flooding into the United States. Last December, law enforcement officers seized more than 1.4 million illegal e-cigarettes at Los Angeles International Airport, with a value of $18 million. Although the number of illegal e-cigarettes seized continues to increase, they only account for a small portion of unauthorized products on the market.
