The FDA Has Rejected The Application For The BLU Electronic Cigarettes From Imperial Tobacco To Be Marketed.

C-storeDIVE News reported on August 22: The FDA announced on Tuesday that it has ruled that the BLU one-time classic tobacco-flavored 2.4% nicotine e-cigarette is not allowed to be sold in the United States.
The FDA stated: This product produced by Fontem US has not sufficiently demonstrated that granting it a marketing license will be beneficial to public health.
Although the FDA pointed out that e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches are low-risk alternatives for smokers, only a few products have successfully applied to the agency.
Currently, there are less than 30 e-cigarette products approved for sale in the United States, and the four approved brands are Juul, Njoy from Altria, Vuse from Reynolds American, and Logic from Japan Tobacco.
Blu ultimately failed to convince the FDA that smokers would completely switch from cigarettes to its device. The FDA stated that Fontem's application proved that smokers were more likely to use both devices simultaneously, which might lead to other health problems besides smoking.
"Although the e-cigarettes approved by the FDA are a low-risk alternative for adult smokers - especially if they completely switch to e-cigarettes - not all e-cigarettes are the same. In this case, the company did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that its benefits outweigh the risks."
