Global Nicotine Forum GFN24 will open on June 13 and registration is now open

The Global Nicotine Forum GFN24 will open in Warsaw, Poland on June 13. The theme of this forum is "Economy, Health and Tobacco Harm Reduction". Registration is now officially open, welcome to sign up and participate.
On April 16, with only eight weeks left until the 11th Global Forum on Nicotine (GFN24) in Warsaw, Poland, the organizers of the conference revealed more details about two keynote sessions.

The theme of this forum's speech is "Economy, Health and Tobacco Harm Reduction", and the meeting agenda is diverse. Two speakers with very different backgrounds, Professor Andrzej Fal and Vivian Azer, will share their unique perspectives for the first time at the Global Forum on Nicotine (GFN), which represents one of the forum's special features.

First of all, the speaker at the opening ceremony of GFN24 was Professor Andrzej Fal, an internationally renowned expert on lung health, allergy and public health. He is the current President of the Polish Society of Public Health, heads the Department of Allergy, Pulmonary and Internal Medicine Diseases of the Polish National Academy of Medical Sciences and has published more than 350 papers in his area of expertise.

Professor Fal's lecture, titled "The Health and Economic Benefits of Tobacco Harm Reduction," examined the impact of the use of safer nicotine products versus the continued use of combustible tobacco on individual and overall population health under different policy models. Moderated by Dr. Grzegorz Krol, the presentation will be followed by a focus on consumer policy and regulatory issues, with responses from Michelle Minton, senior policy analyst at the American Reasons Foundation.

On June 15, Vivien Azer will give a keynote speech on "The Impact of Tobacco Harm Reduction on the Market - Past, Present and Future". As a leading financial analyst and nicotine market expert, she will share what she has learned from a distinguished career on Wall Street. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Senior Analyst for T.D. Cowen's Global Beverages, Tobacco and Cannabis Group, where her contributions to the tobacco and cannabis industries have earned industry-wide accolades, including being selected as one of the Institutional Investor All-Americans multiple times. A member of the research team. In 2022, Vivien was selected as one of the most influential cannabis industry figures on Forbes' "Cannabis 42.0" list.

Vivien Azer will discuss the complex factors that enable and drive initial investment in this space, as well as the potential impact of regulation or prohibition on future investment patterns. As the first senior U.S. financial analyst to focus on the emerging cannabis industry, she will consider whether there are lessons from the industry's trajectory that could be learned by the industry for safer nicotine products. The talk will be moderated by David Sweanor, adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa School of Law, and will include answers from Jon Fell, former CEO and partner of UK investment firm Ash Park Capital.

GFN24 Conference Director Jessica Harding commented that she was excited to hear new voices at the conference sharing perspectives from their areas of expertise on the economic and health impacts of tobacco harm reduction. She said, "Tens of millions of people around the world have successfully quit smoking by switching to safer nicotine products. At GFN24, we want to think about the consequences for these people, and for the people, if poorly drafted regulations force these people to return to combustible tobacco. What is the cost to their families, to the health care system that must care for them, and to the overall economy that must be responsible for people who are out of the workforce? The future extent of tobacco harm reduction will not be determined by governments, but by markets and consumers Determined by the demand for safer products."

Registration for GFN24 is now open and accommodation at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel can be booked at a discounted rate until Friday 10 May. In-person attendance is required to participate in the entire program, but sessions will be streamed online at no cost to registered participants who are unable to attend. Simultaneous translation into Spanish and Russian will be available for many sessions, both in person and online.
