Holland Seizes 80,000 Illegal Flavoring Electronic Cigarettes

Last week, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) and customs officials seized 80,000 illegal flavored e-cigarettes at a warehouse near Schiphol Airport, worth several hundred thousand euros. This exceeded the record for such seizures in the Netherlands.
It is known that all the seized products were flavored e-cigarettes from China, and there were indications that they were originally intended for sale in the Dutch market. However, the Netherlands has already banned flavored e-cigarettes.
This was the second large-scale seizure of flavored e-cigarette products from the same importer. In May this year, law enforcement officers seized 70,000 flavored e-cigarette cartridges from the same importer, which were also illegal products.
The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority stated that since these illegal e-cigarettes had been intercepted before being sold, no fines would be imposed on the importer. However, the importer would be responsible for the cost of destroying these e-cigarettes.
