FDA issues sales ban on six flavored e-cigarette products
Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a sales ban on six flavored e-cigarette products of the Vuse Alto brand.
The six e-cigarettes are products from Reynolds, including three mint flavors and three mixed berry flavor products.
The FDA believes that these products do not meet public health standards and cannot provide health protection for teenagers. Vuse is the best-selling e-cigarette brand in the United States, and Vuse Alto is its most popular sub-brand. A survey shows that since 2021, Vuse e-cigarettes have been the second largest e-cigarette brand used by young people in the United States.
The FDA has taken numerous actions to ensure that tobacco products sold in the United States undergo scientific review. The FDA has received marketing applications for more than 26 million products and made decisions on 99% of them. To date, the FDA has authorized 23 tobacco-flavored e-cigarette products, which are currently legally sold in the United States.
