EXO's Bian Baekhyun apologized for smoking e-cigarettes indoors in Macau: Promise not to do it again

A video of Baekhyun, a member of the Korean boy group EXO, smoking in a restaurant in Macau, China, caused controversy. His agency INB100 subsequently issued an apology statement, explaining that Baekhyun and the staff did not understand the local regulations prohibiting e-cigarettes, and apologized for the discomfort caused.

 

According to CNA Lifestyle on September 18, Baekhyun, a member of the famous Korean boy group EXO, caused controversy because he was recently photographed smoking in a restaurant in Macau, China.

 

On September 16, X exposed a video of Baekhyun smoking an e-cigarette in a restaurant in Macau, China. In the video, Baekhyun was smoking in a corner while chatting with several people who seemed to be staff.

According to the laws of Macau, China, individuals are not allowed to bring e-cigarettes into the country, and smoking is prohibited in all indoor places except designated smoking rooms.

 

On September 16, INB100, the agency of Bian Baekhyun, issued a public apology statement through its social media. The company explained that the video was shot after his concert in Macau in June this year, and he and his staff did not know that there was a ban on e-cigarettes in Macau, China.

The statement reads as follows:

 

Hello.

I am INB100.

We deeply apologize to everyone who has felt uncomfortable with the recent indoor smoking incident involving our artist Baekhyun.

At that time, Baekhyun and our staff had no idea that e-cigarettes were prohibited in Macau. When Baekhyun had dinner with the staff after the performance in Macau, as the conversation deepened, Baekhyun unconsciously smoked an e-cigarette.

Baekhyun is deeply sorry for disappointing many fans due to his careless behavior.

Baekhyun and the company will be vigilant to ensure that such incidents do not happen again, and promise not to disappoint fans in the future. We will also work hard to behave more maturely.
