European Disposable E-cigarette Stocks Are Dumped in Large Quantities To The Middle East. Some Products Are Priced At Less Than 10 Yuan.

European disposable e-cigarette stocks are dumped in large quantities to the Middle East. Some products are priced at less than 10 yuan.

According to people familiar with the matter, the dumping of European inventories to the Middle East probably began in March this year, and the prices of some products have even dropped to less than 10 yuan.

According to the latest trade data released by the General Administration of Customs of China, in March 2024, China's e-cigarette exports to the UAE were approximately US$10.73 million, a decrease of 26.78% compared with the previous month and a decrease of 36.49% compared with the same period last year. Export volume also showed a similar trend, about 263 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 32.26% and a year-on-year decrease of 12.16%.

Although March is usually the period when China's foreign trade volume and export volume begin to rise, as the Spring Festival holiday in February affects trade activities, data on e-cigarette exports to China and the UAE in March this year showed an unusual decline.

Recently, industry insiders revealed to Two Supremes that due to the impact of the British ban on disposable e-cigarettes, the European disposable e-cigarette market has shown a sluggish atmosphere as a whole, resulting in a large amount of inventory that cannot be consumed and has to be dumped to the Middle East market. Some insiders speculate that this may be a factor affecting the decline in China's e-cigarette exports.

Analysts pointed out that the Middle East has become an ideal resale location for e-cigarette products that cannot be sold in the European market due to its geographical proximity to Europe, the relatively loose regulation of e-cigarettes, and the taste preferences of Middle Eastern consumers similar to those in Europe.

Two Supremes will continue to pay attention to this issue, so stay tuned.
