Does Your Vape Taste Burnt? Here’s Why

Does your e-cigarette have a burnt smell? that's why?

If you've been a regular vaper, then you've probably had the experience of picking up your e-cigarette and taking a long puff, expecting a deliciously soothing vapor to fill your throat - but instead, you smell Bad burnt taste and horrible feeling in throat.

What causes it?

If your e-cigarette has a burning smell, it is because your atomizer has been powered on when there is no oil or insufficient oil in the cigarette core. If there isn't enough fluid, the coil will burn the wick and you'll basically inhale charred cotton.

Here's how it happens:

1. High-power electronic cigarettes. When you vape at more wattage than the coil limit, you cause the e-liquid to evaporate too quickly. This can cause the coil to burn the wick even if you still have some e-liquid in your tank. Be sure to stay within the recommended wattage range.

2. Chain electronic cigarette. If you smoke too many times in a row, your wick will dry up quickly. If you notice a slight grilling smell or feel a burnt smell, let your device rest for a while to give the e-liquid inside a chance to coat any dry spots on the wick.

3. Use high VG liquid. All e-cigarettes are not the same. Some tanks will work well with high VG e-liquids, while others may need 50% or more PG to function properly. Check the size of the wick channel - a smaller hole may mean your unit won't play high VG e-juice well.

4. Failure to activate the coil properly. While the above problems do occur, this problem is probably the most common. Priming the coil is critical to getting it ready for first use by ensuring the coil is saturated.
