Czech Republic Plans To Ban Sweet-flavored E-cigarettes To Combat Teenage Vaping.

According to the news from expats on July 7th: To curb the popularity of e-cigarettes among teenagers, the Czech Ministry of Health plans to ban the sale of "candy-flavored" e-cigarette products such as "cotton candy" and "donut", but will not completely ban all flavors.
According to the proposed amendment to the regulations, flavors with obvious "sweet temptation" will be removed from the market, while tobacco, coffee, tea, mint, and some fruit flavors (such as strawberry and banana) will still be allowed for sale.
The Ministry of Health stated that this measure aims to reduce teenagers' interest in e-cigarettes. Although Czech law prohibits the sale of e-cigarettes to individuals under the age of 18, surveys have shown that the enforcement is insufficient, with over half of the teenagers stating that they did not face age restrictions when purchasing.
Opposition and regulatory voices coexist
Robert Hedlicka, the president of the Czech E-cigarette Industry Association, said that merely restricting flavors will not be effective. "More stringent law enforcement and heavy penalties for违规 merchants are the key," said former national drug affairs coordinator Voborjel. He also called for strengthened supervision of retail channels and the revocation of business licenses for those who repeatedly violate regulations.
