British American Tobacco Korea launches environmental reform, upgrades Dunhill brand packaging to eco-friendly materials

British American Tobacco's Korean subsidiary announced that it will replace plastic film with environmentally friendly paper for six large packaging cigarette boxes of the Dunhill brand as part of promoting ESG management concepts.

 

According to N On October 14th, News reported that the South Korean subsidiary of British American Tobacco announced that it will change the special cover material "RELOC" for six large packaging sizes of Dunhill to environmentally friendly paper.

 

It is reported that this packaging change is part of BAT's promotion of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management philosophy. The material of the special cover "RELOC" has been changed from plastic film to environmentally friendly paper, which improves the convenience of sorting and recycling while maintaining the fragrance of Dunhill Road.

 

The products involved in this change include King Size 6mg/3mg/1mg, Dunhill Frost, Dunhill Switch 6mg, and Dunhill Switch 1mg in large packaging.

 

A person in charge of the company said,

 

While maintaining the quality and brand image of Dunhill, the core of this packaging change is to strengthen the environmental characteristics of the products. In the future, the company will apply environmentally friendly materials to more products and promote the development of sustainable products

 

As early as 2021, the company launched eco-friendly packaging and removed PVC protective film. In September 2023, the company replaced the aluminum core of Dunhill Fine Cut, Kent, and Glow Neo cigarette cartridges with eco-friendly paper, and expanded its equipment recycling program for the e-cigarette brand "Vuse".
