英美烟草调整合成尼古丁电子烟销售策略:仅限线下专卖店上架

Considered to be under political and public pressure, British American Tobacco has decided not to sell the synthetic nicotine e-cigarette "Nomad" in convenience stores and online, but only in offline e-cigarette specialty stores. It is reported that BAT's electronic cigarette product "Vuse Go" is currently being sold in convenience stores.

According to N On October 5th, News reported that BAT Rothmans, the South Korean subsidiary of British American Tobacco, has decided not to sell synthetic nicotine e-cigarettes in convenience stores or online.

Today (5th), a relevant person in charge of BAT stated that the synthetic nicotine e-cigarette "Nomad" planned to be launched this month will only be available in offline e-cigarette specialty stores.

According to current South Korean law, nicotine products synthesized chemically without using tobacco leaves are not classified as "tobacco" and are therefore not affected by online sales bans. BAT's decision to abandon online sales is considered to be due to political and public pressure, and it is believed that it may "exploit regulatory blind spots". Due to the tobacco regulation of synthetic nicotine soon being included in legal discussions, BAT will find it difficult to benefit from online sales in the long term.

An official from the South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare predicts that the relevant research results will be released before the end of the year, and legislative discussions will officially begin next year.

In addition, convenience stores are also excluded from the sales network of BAT synthetic nicotine products. In response to recent reports of the convenience store industry rejecting proposals to enter, BAT stated that "there were no initial plans to sell through convenience stores".
