Brazil's e-cigarette regulation bill is on hold again: not on the agenda

The Brazilian Senate Economic Affairs Committee postponed the discussion of the proposal to regulate the production and sale of e-cigarettes, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday (3rd), and did not include it on the agenda of the recent meeting.
According to Metro1. on September 4, the Brazilian e-cigarette production and sales regulation project, which was originally scheduled to be discussed on Tuesday (3rd), was not included in the agenda of the meeting held by the Economic Affairs Committee (CAE). The project was not mentioned during the deliberation of the agenda for the next few days.
The matter was originally scheduled to be voted on August 20, but was removed from the agenda at the request of the reporter, Senator Eduardo Gomes (PL-TO). The congressman has expressed support for the initiator of the proposal, Soraya Thronicke.
Since 2009, e-cigarettes have been banned in Brazil by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). Soronik's proposal aims to regulate the production, sale, export, import and consumption of e-cigarettes. One reason for the approval of the proposal is that it can bring 2.2 billion reais (about 400 million US dollars) in tax revenue to the country.
