Brazil Federal Tax Service: About 2 million illegal e-cigarettes seized in 2024

The Brazilian Federal Taxation Bureau recently seized a large number of illegal e-cigarette devices at ports, airports and land. The amount of seizures reached a new high in 2024, with about 2 million illegal e-cigarettes seized.
According to the official website of the Brazilian Federal Taxation Bureau on January 2, the authorities have recently seized a large number of illegal e-cigarette devices in law enforcement operations at ports, airports and land.
On December 3, the Federal Taxation Bureau seized nearly 450,000 illegal e-cigarettes at the Port of Santos. The goods were declared as toys, tools, computer accessories, auto parts and musical instruments. On November 8, the Federal Tax Bureau and the Border Operations Command (COD) seized 200 kilograms of e-cigarettes at a logistics company in Goiania.
