About 25% of U.S. high school students use e-cigarettes

 

According to Drug Watch, the U.S. state with the highest rate of youth e-cigarette use is West Virginia at 35.7%, followed by North Carolina at 35.5%, New Mexico at 34% and New Hampshire at 33.8%. The state also has the highest rate of adult tobacco use in the United States at 25.2 percent, according to the West Virginia Department of Tobacco Prevention. The state’s cigarette tax rate is much higher than that of e-cigarettes, with a tax of US$1.2 per pack of cigarettes (20 sticks), and a tax of only US$0.15 for 2ml of e-cigarette liquid.
