22nd Century Group signs five-year agreement with cigarette retailers to expand low-nicotine tobacco market

22nd Century Group of the United States has reached a five-year licensing and manufacturing agreement with Smoker Friendly, a large independent cigarette retailer, covering 11 existing brands and 8 new premium brands. It plans to integrate the filtered cigar business and launch low-nicotine content brands to expand the low-nicotine product market.
According to Globe Newswire on January 7, the American tobacco products company 22nd Century Group, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "22nd Century") recently announced that it has reached a five-year licensing and manufacturing agreement with Smoker Friendly, one of the largest independent cigarette retailers in the United States.
The agreement covers 11 existing brands currently sold in Smoker Friendly retail stores and distributor networks in the United States, as well as 8 new SF premium brands to be launched, and provides a framework for other products planned to be launched in 2025.
22nd Century's plant in North Carolina will undertake a large amount of contract manufacturing for 11 existing SF brands, and the planned 8 premium products will focus on the natural market.
The company plans to expand its Master Services Agreement to include the integration of Smoker Friendly's existing filtered cigar business and the addition of low-nicotine brands that complement 22nd Century's "VLN" cigarette brand product line.
22nd Century CEO Larry Firestone said,
"This agreement lays the foundation for a long-term relationship between Smoker Friendly and 22nd Century, and we will focus on expanding the product range covered by the agreement and working to add the "VLN" cigarette brand series to help expand the low-nicotine product category and allow more consumers to access and choose these new non-addictive categories."
22nd Century is a U.S. tobacco products company engaged in the sale and distribution of its own patented new low-nicotine tobacco products, with its flagship product being the VLN cigarette brand.
Smoker Friendly is headquartered in Colorado, USA, and operates 344 stores in 13 states, including tobacco stores, cigar lounges and gas stations.
