The 2024 Korea Vape Show, originally scheduled to be held at the end of this month, has been postponed again due to public concerns that it may encourage smoking. The organizer plans to find another venue to hold it again this year.

According to Kmib on October 2, the "Korea Vape Show 2024", originally scheduled to be held at the end of this month, has been postponed again due to concerns that it may encourage smoking.

A person from the National Smoking Prevention Support Center of the Korea Health Promotion and Development Institute said on the 2nd that the organizer announced through the official website that the "KOVAS 2024" event originally scheduled to be held at the outdoor plaza of The-K Hotel in Seocho District, Seoul from the 25th to the 27th of this month will be postponed.

A person from the National Smoking Prevention Support Center said,

"Under the rapid response of the government and anti-smoking agencies, as well as the pressure of criticism from youth groups and the media, the organizer seems to have made the decision to postpone."

He revealed that the organizer, The Fairs, said that they would not hold the event at the hotel, but would claim compensation for the losses caused by the unilateral cancellation of the lease, so the hotel felt considerable pressure.

The person added,

"The event has not been completely canceled, but only postponed temporarily. Therefore, the organizer may look for another location to hold the event again within the year, and we will continue to monitor it."

The organizer had planned to hold the same event at Suwon Messe in Gyeonggi Province in May this year, but it was postponed due to boycotts.
