What does vaping feel like?

Vaping feels different depending on the device, temperature, e-liquid, nicotine strength, and whether it contains THC/cannabis. But the general physical sensation is often described like this:
Inhaling: a warm, slightly moist aerosol-not true water vapor-often with a flavor. Menthol or ice flavors feel cooling.
Throat: a "throat hit"-a tingle, scratch, or mild burn at the back of the throat. More nicotine or more propylene glycol usually makes it stronger.
Lungs: a mild fullness or tickle, sometimes a cough, especially for first-timers. Some people barely feel it in their lungs.
Exhale: visible cloud, lingering flavor, sometimes dry mouth or thirst afterward.
If it contains nicotine: within seconds you may feel a mild head rush, lightheadedness, buzzing, relaxation, or increased alertness. Your heart rate and blood pressure can rise. First-time or high-dose use often causes coughing, dizziness, nausea, headache, or a racing heart. With regular use, the head rush fades and vaping becomes more about avoiding nicotine withdrawal-cravings, irritability, anxiety, restlessness, difficulty concentrating.
If it contains THC/cannabis: it can feel like a cannabis high-euphoria, relaxation, altered time and perception, dry mouth, red eyes, impaired coordination. It can also cause anxiety, paranoia, panic, vomiting, or, with high doses, psychosis-like symptoms.
Less pleasant effects can include: dry mouth/throat, cough, wheezing, chest tightness, headache, nausea, dizziness, heart palpitations. Very high nicotine doses can cause nicotine poisoning-vomiting, confusion, weakness, seizures-and need emergency care.
Compared with smoking, vaping often feels less harsh and more flavored, but it is not harmless. It's addictive if it contains nicotine, can irritate lungs and cardiovascular system, and THC vaping products have been linked to EVALI lung injury. If you don't already use nicotine, the safest choice is not to start. If you're trying to quit smoking, approved nicotine replacement and medical support are safer and more reliable.
