According to a report by wcbm on September 20, former US President Donald Trump said that if he is re-elected, he will "save" e-cigarette products.

On Friday (20th), Trump posted on his social platform "Truth Social", "In 2019, I saved flavored e-cigarettes, which greatly helped people quit smoking. I also raised the purchase age to 21, so that "children" can't get in touch with it. Kamala (Kamala Harris) and Joe (Joe Biden) want to ban everything, causing small businesses across the country to close down. I will save e-cigarettes again."

During his first term, the Trump administration introduced a limited ban on flavored e-cigarettes. Previously, Trump had promised to ban all gas stations and convenience stores from selling flavored e-cigarette products, but two days later he changed his mind on Twitter (X) and said that e-cigarettes can help people quit smoking.

In November 2019, Trump met with public health organizations, tobacco industry CEOs, and e-cigarette supporters. As previously reported by Politico, Trump's proposal bans the sale of all sweet and fruity e-cigarette cartridges and cartridges within 30 days, but allows gas stations and convenience stores to continue selling menthol cartridges and e-cigarettes. In addition, the proposal also allows e-cigarette stores to sell e-cigarette oils for open systems, which are mainly used by adults.

According to Politico, free market advocates, small e-cigarette store owners, and e-cigarette manufacturers support Trump's proposal, while anti-tobacco advocates accuse Trump of giving in.

"This is a capitulation to Juul and vape shops and a green light for the e-cigarette industry to continue targeting kids with flavored products and fueling their addiction," Matthew Myers, president of the Campaign Against Tobacco Kids, said in a statement.

As California attorney general, now-Vice President Kamala Harris supported a bill aimed at banning e-cigarettes from minors.
