Thailand seizes over $80,000 worth of illegal e-cigarettes involving brands such as RELX, OXBAR, and NEXBAR

Thanakrit Jit-Arirattrat, Assistant Minister of Public Health of Thailand, led a joint operation to raid and arrest 10 e-cigarette stores in Chanthaburi Province, seizing illegal e-cigarettes worth about 3 million baht (82,000 US dollars), involving multiple e-cigarette brands, including RELX, OXBAR, NEXBAR, etc.
According to Khaosod on July 8, Thanakrit Jit-Arirattrat, Assistant Minister of Public Health of Thailand, led a joint operation of provincial police, Mueang Chanthaburi police, administrative departments and health officials to raid and arrest 10 e-cigarette stores in Chanthaburi Province, involving multiple e-cigarette brands such as RELX, OXBAR, NEXBAR, etc.
The locations inspected include:
1.Mahaniyom MP shop, Maharach branch, Chantaburi
2.Mahaniyom MP shop, Khlong Khut branch, Tha Mai district
3.Mahaniyom MP shop, Khlung branch, Khlung district
4.Mahaniyom MP shop, Krating branch, Khao Khitchakut district
5.Mahaniyom MP shop, Pak Saeng branch, Chantaburi
6.Mahaniyom MP shop, Makham branch, Makham district
7.Mahaniyom MP shop, Phliu branch, Laem Sing district
8.Mahaniyom MP shop, Charoensuk market branch, Chantaburi
9.Mahaniyom MP shop, Ramphai branch, Tha Chang district, Chantaburi
10.Mr. Makuea Po's home in Silapornville village, Koh Khwang district, Chantaburi






During the operation, the police arrested several offenders and seized illegal e-cigarettes worth about 3 million baht (82,000 US dollars).
According to the investigation, the sales of e-cigarettes in the region are close to 20 million baht (540,000 US dollars) per month, and the youngest e-cigarette user is only 12 years old.
In addition, the police also found that merchants transformed e-cigarettes into cartoon styles to attract young people and avoid the attention of parents, and the price was about 200-300 baht (5.49-8.23 US dollars).
